Recently added to the rental department inventory are Vista Beam 600 units from Kino Flo. A VistaBeam 600 delivers the equivalent of a 4,000 Watt Softlight, but uses only nine Amps of power. These fixtures have a DMX control system and the ability to produce daylight or tungsten balanced light from the same light.    

Local DP Dennis O'Keefe needed lots of light with limited power availability, so the Vista Beam 600 was the perfect choice. Five of these Kino Flo units lit a large room at the US Supreme Court pluging into house power and drawing less than 50 amps. With visible windows Dennis went with daylight lamps, switchable color temperature is another great Vista Beam feature.

In 2008 we supplied the entire grip and lighting package for Yash Raj Films’ NEW YORK. NEW YORK released in over 900 screens worldwide on June 26, 2009 and ever since has continued to garner worldwide acclaim and recognition. Yash Raj returned this fall to shoot another US based production titled RIGHT HAND MAN and chose Location Lighting Ltd again to supply their G & L package.

November saw the wrap of the latest film by James L. Brooks which was shooting in the area since August. The Sony Pictures production stars Reese Witherspoon and Jack Nicholson. We were called on to supply distro and grip along with some day play gear and expendable supplies.

There's a new heavyweight champ in the local grip truck world, our new 10-Ton. We hit the road in August of '08 with our best grip truck ever. Our flagship has the most refined roll-out design yet and a new time saving innovation, a second side liftgate. This huge truck can unload and wrap gear quickly with the gear on carts and dual liftgates.

The CBS hit show set in Philadelphia returns for a sixth season. Though most of the show is shot in LA the production comes east a few times a season to use some real Philly locations. They stay local for their grip and lighting with our 10-Ton Grip/Electric Package.
